Google Chrome on Android is introducing a new “Listen to this page” feature, that is the part of the recent Chrome 130 update.
Google announced that this functionality shall allow users to have webpages read aloud, enabling them to listen to articles while multitasking.
This is especially useful for those who prefer consuming content audibly or need to keep their hands free.
Users can continue to listen even when switching apps or turning off the screen, making it a versatile tool for anyone on the go.
The feature supports a variety of voices—ten in total—and offers advanced controls like playback speed adjustment.
To enable the “Listen to this page” feature, users need to open a webpage in Chrome, tap the menu button and then select the new listening option.
The feature will then read the content aloud, following along as the page scrolls automatically.
Users can manage the playback using on-screen controls, allowing them to pause the reading or resume it, and adjust the reading speed.
This development underscores Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience through continuous innovation.
By integrating these convenient features, Google is making it easier for all users to interact with web content that suits their personal preferences and needs.
