Google has rolled out a groundbreaking feature in its Gemini app. The new feature enables the users to generate podcast-like audio summaries of its Deep Research reports.
The feature is named Audio Overviews and it converts in-depth reports into conversational discussions between two AI “hosts.”
It was first released in the NotebookLM app last September, and Audio Overviews have now been added to the Gemini app for free and Advanced subscribers.
The Audio Overviews option comes in handy if combined with Deep Research, which is an AI feature that surfs the internet to produce thorough reports on matters of interest.
After the generation of a report, the users can then use the “Generate Audio Overview” option to have a podcast-style summary read aloud. This becomes convenient for the users to comprehend intricate information as they multitask.
Moreover, the feature enables users to direct and engage with the AI hosts, which makes the experience more dynamic and personalized. Users can upload documents, slides, or other content, and the AI hosts will summarize the content, make connections, and offer unique insights.
This feature is particularly useful for students, professionals, and anyone who wants to make the process of understanding long or complex documents easier.
Google also launched another feature named Canvas in the Gemini app. Canvas is an interactive workspace where users can compose, edit, and share documents or code in real-time.
This goes hand-in-hand with the Audio Overviews feature with a smooth environment for research, research, and content creation.
These developments reflect Google’s dedication to improving user interaction and productivity using AI-based tools.
The inclusion of Audio Overviews and Canvas in the Gemini app is a major development in bringing AI closer to practical use in daily life.
