Google says that NotebookLM now has a new feature that automatically finds its own sources from the web. Instead of uploading documents or links, users instead can simply hit the “Discover” button and tell the AI tool what they want to learn about and it will go on searching the web for relevant sources.
Google started rolling out this feature on Wednesday and should be available to everyone in about a week.
NotebookLM quickly scans through millions of URLs, finds the most relevant ones, and presents up to ten recommendations – with an explanation of why the source is useful as well as which sources to keep and apply to features like FAQs, Briefing Docs and AI-generated audio discussions.
These sources are saved in NotebookLM so they’re easy to read, cite, and use as notes or answers to questions, Google says. This is just one of many new features based on its Gemini AI that will help users find resources for references.
It ‘s also got a really cool new button called “I ‘m Feeling Curious” which will give you sources on any subject that you select. Much like Wikipedia ‘s random article feature. It ‘s good for discovering new and interesting things.
