Meta is taking steps forward to make significant updates to its social media platform Threads. The platform aims to improve search and trending features in response to rising competition from Bluesky.
Threads will now have precise search capabilities. This will allow the users to find posts within the specific date ranges or they can search that from individual accounts, similar to the features offered by X.
Besides, Meta has recently tested a new page in the US, that features expanded topics and AI-generated summaries of trending discussions.
Adam Mosseri the head of Instagram and the person who spearheaded the launch of Threads has recently announced these current changes.
Additionally, Threads has introduced several updates to enhance the user experience, like the “custom feeds” feature.
This feature allows users to save and organize several personalized lists of posts on the
ir main screen, similar to how Bluesky already does. This means you can easily access specific types of content you like, all in one place.
This feature enables users to follow specific topics or accounts, offering more flexibility beyond the algorithmic and chronological feeds.
Despite these efforts, Threads has faced criticism for its default home feed, which shows irrelevant content from non-followed accounts.
In response to these, Meta has made changes in the Threads algorithm.
This tweak should prioritize the posts from the following accounts only.
This effort has been made to make the content more relevant and timely.
