Sony’s Latest PS5 Update Introduces Welcome Hub, Party Share, and Personalized 3D Audio Profiles
    Posted in

Sony has recently rolled out a significant update for the PlayStation 5. This latest update brings in various new features aiming towards enhancing user experience and extending the shelf life of the console’s accessories.

One of the standout additions is the adaptive charging feature. This feature is designed to optimize the power supplied to controllers connected via the console’s USB ports.

This is available exclusively on the latest latest update models. It is designed to adjust the charging rate based on the controller’s current battery levels.

This not only helps conserve power but also extends the overall battery life of the controllers. If the user connects no controller, the console is designed to automatically cut power to the USB port shortly after entering rest mode.

In addition to this, Sony has introduced a new “Welcome hub” that allows users to customize their home screen with widgets.

This Welcome hub, replaces the Explore tab that was previously available only in the US.

This feature lets users monitor various aspects such as console storage, accessory battery levels, and their friends lists. The Welcome hub is being rolled out gradually, starting with select players in the US and expanding globally over the coming weeks.

Another notable feature in this update is the ability to create personalized 3D audio profiles for headphones or ear buds.

This is to provide a more immersive audio experience by tailoring the sound profile to individual users.

Additionally, there are adjustable Remote Play settings, allowing users to manage access permissions on a per-user basis.

Sony is also expanding its social features by introducing party voice chat invitations.

These can be shared across the trendy messaging and social media apps. This will enable users to invite players not on their friends list to join their party chats.

This feature, along with a PlayStation App update that allows sharing party links from mobile devices, will be rolled out in the coming days.

The entire bundle of updates bring a range of improvements that enhance the functionality and user experience of the PS5, making it a more versatile and user-friendly console.
