Exciting times ahead for Threads users! According to the latest update, the platform is all set to introduce a new search feature.
This new update should make it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for, adding a whole new level of specificity to your search results!
Soon, you can filter searches by date and profile range. This update is rolling out globally over the next few weeks and aims to bring Threads closer to the advanced search capabilities of competing platforms like X and Bluesky.
Until now, the search function on Threads has basic features, focusing on keywords to find trending topics, posts, or accounts, and then sorting results by or “Recent” or “Top”.
The latest update introduces a settings icon to the search bar. When tapped, it presents options like- “After date,” “Before date,” and “From profile.”
Instagram head Adam Mosseri recently announced that Meta would test these filters and other search improvements.
In addition to these search enhancements, Meta has rolled out other long-requested updates, including custom following feeds, tweaks to the For You feed algorithm to prioritize posts from accounts you follow, and an option for some users to default to their Following feed instead of the algorithmically sorted one.
So get ready for a more streamlined and efficient search experience on Thread!
